About the Program

Skyler's Music Studio, LLC is delighted to bring the city of Atlanta this interactive, educational, and lively afterschool music class! The first class will be September 21st at 4:30 pm. The curriculum includes thorough lesson plans with educational elements of music theory, vocal technique, musical genres, instruments, music appreciation, and music history. The core of this program is singing, and as children learn songs, they will gain insight into proper vocal techniques, along with instrument instruction and the fundamentals of music. Games, activities, and materials will be incorporated to teach these components. Students will walk away with new songs in their hearts, the ability to play the glockenspiel, piano, and a variety of rhythm instruments, and a greater understanding, knowledge, and fondness for music. Young musicians will take home a set of musical instruments and Music Theory Coloring & Activity Book.

Skyler's Experience

Skyler has nearly a decade of experience in providing musical instruction for children. She began her music education journey immediately after graduating from Virginia State University with a Bachelor of Music Degree, where she worked as a Summer Camp Counselor at Idyllwild Arts in California. From there, Skyler taught at great companies like Music Rhapsody and STAR Afterschool Program, where she taught music classes at elementary schools, conducted small group classes, and created activities for music instruction. Once arriving in Atlanta, nearly six years ago, she became the After School Program Coordinator at Destiny Academy, where she created curriculums to provide children with music and art instruction and lead each class. From there, she went on to create curriculums and provide an exceptional after-school music program for Discovery Montessori, which she will be returning this fall to teach. Over the years, Skyler has garnered so much knowledge and experience in providing pre-school and grade-school-aged children with music instruction in a group setting. Although she has thrived in this city for over five years as a private music instructor, she revels in her ability to provide children with a variety of learning experiences through workshops, and now this small group music class.
