Vanessa McGlothen is recent transplant to Atlanta, GA. Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, she has played the piano since she was 8 years old. Her studies began with private lessons gaining her foundation in classical music and theory. In her teens she served as her church’s youth choir piano player until she graduated high school. While attending college at Langston University as a music major, she was able to gain experience playing for multiple religious denominations and jazz trios. Vanessa is experienced in multiple genres of music and has experienced the concert stage, opening for artists such as R&B group Silk, Keith Sweat, Monica and Maxwell. In recent years she has become proficient in the electric bass. She holds membership in the Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for Women.
